Odyssey Extreme Racing 30 battery (PC950). The range of Odyssey Extreme Racing batteries offer phenomenal starting power and massive deep cycle reserve power. Some other batteries provide excellent cranking power, others reserve power. The revolutionary Odyssey Extreme Racing battery is designed to do both!
Odyssey achieve this by using plates made from 99.99% pure virgin lead. Pure lead plates can be manufactured thinner and many more can be fitted into a smaller battery. The resultant increase in surface area results in more power, in fact upto twice as much as conventional batteries. Odyssey's batteries are capable of providing engine cranking pulses in excess of 2250 amps for 5 seconds, that's twice or three times more than an equally sized conventional battery.
These batteries are capable of dealing with harsh racing environments and can cope with the extremes of heat, vibration and electrical demands required by modern day race and rally cars. With a rugged construction and tightly packed pure lead plates, the non spillable Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) design protects against shock and vibration that can quickly destroy other batteries.
Battery operating temperatures vary from -40°C to +45°C for standard models and upto +80°C for models with metal jacket. The batteries can be stored unconnected on an open circuit for up to 2 years without requiring charging. When charged however, they are capable of 100% charge in 4-6 hours and offer 70% longer cycle life than conventional batteries, with a 3-10 year service life.
